Hello all!
It's time to get SPOOKY!!! This update marks not only the world expansion and some major shifts to the meta of Extraction, but also our first PROPER holiday event for Halloween! Let's dive into the new changes and new scares!
The World Grows...
This is been a LONG time coming and a massive effort from the entire build team, old and new, but the map is finally DONE! Well... more done. The world is now fuller, more expansive, and includes a ton of extra hidden details and new secretes to find - including some built by you!
Now - this doesn't mean that Extraction's Dead Zone is going to stop changing, or that it's the only place you'll ever be running around in, far from it, but this means that we're finally ready to show you the full world and let you start changing it!
Not only is the map bigger, but existing areas have also had new assets and landmarks put in place to continue filling out the world!
Check out some of your new fighting grounds:

Picking a Winner
But the new map isn't everything that released in this update! We have some new visual elements and UI updates, as well as two new items that will shift things up quite a bit. Lockpicks and Crowbars!
Lockpicks are a new craftable piece of equipment that you can take into the Dead Zone which disable trapped chests when used instead of risking that 50/50 chance of zombies spawning right on you. They stack up to 16 and are crafted with sticks, iron nuggets, and iron ingots.
CROWBARS on the other hand are a big change. These powerful prying tools that definitely don't look like a wrench (I AM NOT A PIXEL ARTIST OKAY) can INSTANTLY crack open Shulker Boxes for all the goodies stored inside.
This power doesn't come cheap though. One prybar will run you a few sticks, some iron, and one Netherite Scrap - which can now be crafted from Netherite Ingots. This is the first in a set of endgame equipment items that are finally adding some endgame loot into the crafting tree.
Of course, both of these new actions are stats you will see in your postgame report:
Currently, both of these items can only be crafted or purchased - not looted, so you'll be making your tools yourself!
Talking about those purchases though...
BOO!
New spirits wander Sanctuary and they are looking for some sweets! Shepard has arrived for the holiday and they are willing to trade some powerful new items and equipment... if you have what they're looking for.
A new limited Holiday item - Candy, has been added into chests all throughout the Dead Zone - Candy can mainly be found in Uncommon and Rare chests.
Candy, combined with some Sugar and Iron, can be crafted into Candy Cauldrons in both the Common and Legendary rarity - both of which can be traded with Shepard for new items as well as some high-tier seasonal loot. The best items, however, also require Exotic Candy Cauldrons which can only be found in the Dead Zone itself, and is... well... Exotic Rarity.
There are also some strange masks floating around in the inventories of the Dead Zone bearing the likenesses of some strange Shapers who have a common thread tying them together. Rumor has it collecting these five can unlock something...
That's not even everything, but we figure the remaining items for this update should be a Tricky Treat for you all to find yourselves...
Shepard will be around in Sanctuary until November 17th when the Halloween event will end and our Winter Solstice event will begin. Stay tuned there for more info.
Full 1.3 Update

- Players will now receive Error Code: Panda
- Fixed an issue with Extraction particle runnable
- Prevented duplicate enchanting which would void items
- Fixed an issue with valid regants not being recognized for some recipies
- Fixed a map issue where players could get stuck
- Added Inventory Rollback protection for Admin Support
A good portion of remaining bugfixes had come out in the 1.2.8 update a couple weeks ago - so that's it really, basically all new stuff!!
Y'all - what a ride it's been to here! Extraction is my favorite thing I've made as a part of becoming a YouTuber and a creator, and I am so happy and excited for everything y'all keep making in this game.
The next update is going to do some really fun things to allow YOU all to make even more fun events and challenges in this game, so stay tuned! I won't be working on it right away though... I have something else I've been cooking up on the coding front that has my head a little bit in the clouds...
Talk soon ;)
